Right now we are sitting at the hotel waiting for our shuttle to the airport. Today we are flying on to Vietnam. Just like that, casually flying to Vietnam. Travelling from place to place is starting to feel very normal, and the days of the week are becoming a bit of a blur. I suppose this is really how it is being a traveler! And I don’t mind it one bit! We have been here in South East Asia for a little over a month, but it feels like much longer. Our Laos adventure is now over, which I think is both sad and exciting! We have only seen a tiny bit of this beautiful country and its lovely population, but I can’t wait to go to Vietnam, the country I have been looking forward to the most. Despite the fact that Laos has been absolutely wonderful, it has not been all rosey! After we left Luang Prabang I got food poisoning, or something with the very same effect – and spent quite a few hours puking up my guts, and a little bit more. Therefore I didn’t see much of Vang Vieng, which we went to after Luang Prabang. And spent most of my days lying on my bed. Now, though, we have been in Vientiane for a few days, in the middle of a festival, eating Dairy Queen ice cream most days. It was quite enjoyable! We also found a nice swimming pool here, and don’t think I need to say how awesome it felt to have a first nice swim in the heat since we got to Asia. During one of the days in Luang Prabang we went up a hill to watch the sun set. It was quite beautiful. We also went up at 5 in the morning to see monks walk the streets. Not like prostitutes.
Just nu sitter vi på vårt hotell och väntar på att bussen ska ta oss till flygplatsen. Idag flyger vi nämligen vidare till Vietnam. Bara sådär liksom. Det börjar bli en vana att resa runt från ställe till ställe. Koll på dagarna har jag inte direkt heller! Jag antar att det är såhär det är att vara en resenär – och jag gillar’t! Vi har varit i Asien i lite över en månad nu, men det känns som mycket längre. Vårt Laosäventyr är nu över, vilket är både roligt och tråkigt. Vi har bara sett en del av det här fantastiska landet och dess invånare. Men samtidigt ska det bli jättekul att komma vidare till Vietnam, landet jag har sett fram emot väldigt länge att få se. Laos har inte bara varit underbart dock! Efter att vi åkte från Luang Prabang fick jag matförgiftning, eller något med samma effekt – och spenderade rätt många timmar att spy upp allt jag hade i magen – plus lite till! Därför såg jag inte så mycket av Vang Vieng, stället vi åkte till efter Luang Prabang. Jag spenderade större delen av tiden i sängen. Nu är vi dock i Vientiane, huvudstaden. Hit kom vi mitt i en festival, och vi har mest tagit det lugnt och käkat glass. Rätt så trevligt faktiskt. Vi hittade också en pool som vi simmade it, vilket var helt underbart..
